Welcome to the Wilderness: an Invitation to Private Retreatants.

There is a time in everyone’s life that we simply need “out”. We simply have to get away from everybody and from everything so that the Lord’s Spirit of Love can help us regain a sense of true proportion.

Going on retreat is entering into what Emilie Griffin calls “the country of God’s affections”. It is entering into the wilderness that we experience the ever newness of God’s jubilant and refreshing love.

In Hosea we read “Therefore, I will now allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her, From there I will give her vineyards, and make the Valley of Achor a door of hope. There she shall respond as in the days of her youth, as at the time when she came out of the land of Egypt. (Hos. 2:14-15)

We offer God’s wilderness as a time in space for silence and spiritual renewal. Be you just a beginner, a penitent prodigal, or simply and beautifully just yourself, you are welcome.
