Let us “fly together to our beloved homeland,” the place where the heart waits and silence of our inmost self listens to “the Word” that cries out to become the very “flesh” of our life. From Mary’s silent encounter between her womb and the Eternal Word came forth the gift of unconditional love. During this Advent Season invite Christ to be born in you. Let your Fiat ring out: “Be it done unto me according to Thy word!”

Our “roamin” Roman Catholic Escapees

Chuck and Gretchen Molling recently spent a month with us as volunteers. When Chuck retired from his law practice in 2001, they sold their house in Colorado and bought a motor home. They are members of an organization called the “Escapees,” and their place of residence is where ever they happen to be parked at the time.  Since their retirement, they have been making semi-annual, monthly visits to the monastery…one in the spring and one in the fall.  This year they came a little early to help cover for Br Aidan during his educational leave. Chuck has proved to be very capable at holding down the fort in the reservations office. Gretchen is a real whiz in the kitchen. As Abbot Christopher (aka Michael John) can attest, Gretchen’s pecan pies are out of this world.
